Ron,
Great star party last night. Looking forward to July 9th. Hope the sky will be as nice and clear. Nice group of people and a good array ofscopes. I enjoyed meeting all the folks from Meet-up there.
Tell us about yourself and include if you have any astronomy equipment that you would like to bring to the star party (telescopes, binoculars, etc)?
Okay!... for all you present and future amateur astronomy buffs.... URBAN STARGAZING HAS COME TO BROOKLYN. Let's get together for nights of viewing the night skies through state of the art telescopes and opportunities for cosmological conversations on all levels. Our meet-ups will be centered around monthly stargazing parties already underway for the last few years at several locations in Brooklyn. You don't need to own any astronomy equipment to participate because it will be held in conjunction with a local amateur astronomy group. But if you own telescopes or binoculars or any other astronomical equipment, regardless of how modest or sophisticated, please feel free to bring them. If you have a telescope but have had trouble assembling it or getting it to work, bring it with you and get some help. These events will be in public parks and are open to the public; so the more equipment the better. This is what we've all been waiting for folks, so come on out, bring family and friends, and enjoy the celestial views and meet new friends that, like you, are interested in the cosmos.
