Details
Dr Mary Bruck, emeritus lecturer from the University of Edinburgh, will talk on how women made a vital contribution to astronomy for more than 200 years - but their work was slow to be recognised.
She will then discuss the lives and research of many of these fascinating women, from the 18th to the 20th centuries.
The lecture will take place at the Royal Astronomical Society, Burlington House, Piccadilly W1J 0BQ.
Time: 1300 (doors open 1245)
Admission: free - but seats are on a first-come first-served basis.

"Wonderful to hear of women's contribution to astronomy. However, shocked of Victorian values where women were only taught astronomy (that too indoors) so that they could have an interesting topic to discuss with their men folk!"
